Solutions for Multiple Disk IIs

Hi,

I've tried to search through old forum posts to see if anyone had suggestions for this and didn't have any luck. Does anyone know of a good solution for switching drive 1 between a Disk II and Floppy Emu without constantly opening up the top of the Apple II? Are there extension cables being sold anywhere? I know there's a switcher out there, but apparently it can damage the Emu in 5.25 mode. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Sam

BMOW makes a switcher

As you probably know, BMOW makes a switcher. This is probably what you need for the Disk II. I don't see how this could damage the FEMU. I would suggest, however, to use some kind of enclosure, so the contacts aren't openly exposed.

A few months ago I made my own switcher - specific for DuoDisk, since I wanted a neat solution which also provides a proper "mechanical" solution. It uses the same concept as the BMOW switcher, however, mine supports switching two drives and uses DB25 connectors, so I can plug it into the rear of DuoDisk and connect the original DuoDisk cable to it. FloppyEmu's ribbon cable then connects to the box header on the top. The GitHub link above also contains the (really simple) schematics.

Mine looks like this:

Ah, I feel silly. I misread

Ah, I feel silly. I misread the BMOW advertisement and thought it just didn't work with 5.25 disks. My mistake. Looks like it's actually the solution I'm looking for!

Thanks!
