Un Forking Files on the Apple //e

So I can get a file from Asimov onto my Mac, to ProDOS8 formatted CF card, and that into the Apple //e. But then when I go to unShrink the file I get a "forked file" error. I came across this entry;

021- How can I unfork forked files on my Apple II?

You can do it 'by hand' using a block editor to change filetype, etc. information in a
directory block; or, you can use UnforkIt. UnforkIt is a BASIC program by Ivan Drucker
which splits a forked file into two files, neither of which is forked.

I assume that CopyII+ has a block editor, and that I can change the filetype using that program. Before I dive into this, I was wondering if anyone here has had experience doing it? Thanks for any help, tips, or advice.

What about this?
ProTYPE

(Thank goodness for Applefritter, as it seems the original source is gone.)

ProTYPE only works on the IIgs.

This is all sounding entirely too complex. There is an easier way. What file do you have/want to move?

Gack. Well I had to try ProType, but as predicted above, it didn't work for the 8-bit //e version of Shrinkit to decode a file, it was still ID'd as being forked.

To answer one question, I'm currently trying to get a viable copy of the Apple issued utilities that came with the HiSpeed SCSI Card. However, I would also like to get the utilities for the Video Overlay Card. Heck, I'd like to have access to the Asimov library, but I need to figure out how to get the files to work. Are there depositories of non/un-forked Apple ][ shrunk files?

Just use CiderPress to unpack whatever you need, and place it on a new disk image. If you point me to something specific, I'll go through the steps with you.

Edit: I note that Asimov has images\hardware\storage\disk\a2_hs_scsi\A2_HS_SCSI_V20.DSK already unpacked as a disk image, which is exactly the same thing as images\hardware\storage\disk\a2_hs_scsi\Apple II High Speed SCSI Utilities 5.25.shk - so again, is this exactly what you're after?
