I have a couple unidisks 3.5 that have problems to be sorted.
1st drive: On powering up the Apple IIe the drive just screeches. It does this without a disk in the drive. On the positive side I guess that means it's trying to spin. I pulled the drive assembly out. Before I do anything rash I thought it would be prudent to ask for advice. I assume it probably just needs a little lube. Is there a document available somewhere that describes a maintenance procedure?
2nd drive: Won't accept a disk. Try to put a disk in and it just spits it out. Haven't pulled that one apart yet. One at a time seemed like a better idea.
Just an update.
One of the gears in the ejection motor of the screeching drive is broken. Cleaned up and replaced the old dried grease. Found a potential source to replace the damaged gear. It's back in it's box until I get the part.
The other drive works much better after a cleaning and new grease.
