Heres To All The People That Royally Fu$%ed Their iPods w/ Linux
I had recently recked my ipod w/Linux and then after many stressful hours figured Out how to fix it.
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX YOUR IPOD (AFTER MESSING IT UP W/ LINUX.
1. Download the free version of killdisk from
http://www.killdisk.com/
2. Unzip the Folder and Open Kill disk For Whatever Operating Sytem you
have.
3. Find Your Ipod in the list of drives. Make sure Your iPod is in DISKMODE. If it is not reboot the ipod by holding the menu button and the center button for 5-10 seconds. When it starts to reboot and the apple is on the screen hold the center button and the play/pause button. It should then go into disk mode.
4. After you've made sure your ipod is in disk mode. Go to where your Ipod is listed in kill disk. And choose the option that will delete the whole drive. This will take 45 min or longer.
5. Then after it is finshed go to MY COMPUTER and rightclick on the ipod and reformat it with fat32 file system.
6. When your done with that Make sure your ipods not in disk mode. And then go to your ipod Updater and restore your ipod. Then your good to go.
