Heres some info about the 4 section 1/8" 3.5mm plug used in Apples A/V cables (first gen ibooks and ipods) and camcorder cables.
1 = first ring
4 = tip (last ring)
CamCorder AV
1 = Right
2 = Ground
3 = Video
4 = Left
iBook AV
1 = Ground
2 = Video
3 = Right
4 = Left
iPod AV
1 = Video
2 = Ground
3 = Right
4 = Left
The camcorder cable works with a ipod but needs the rca connections swapped.
The camcorder cable doesn't work with a first gen ibook without some wire swapping.
