Beige G3 and ATX

i wonder what the diffrence is between the apple PSU and the ATX PSU. i cant seem to find any documents on what is diffrent between the 2.

yea the AIO would be harder to mod without the PSU thats in it now.

i was thinking on moding this AIO with a ATX PSU and a LCD monitor but make it look like its still stock. but i dont want to hurt this flawless AIO case. so here is what i was thinking to save the case.

once the built in monitor does go i would want to make a mold of the view part of the CRT and take some clear plastic somthing real strong that will take punishment and not scretch easy. and put that in the CRT's place so it will still look like it has the CRT inplace and take the LCD and mount it behind the fake CRT. and buy some black projact paper and put behind the LCD. Taking the internals out of its case so it will look more better being more closer to the fake screen.

but would be allot of work but will make alot of room.. i would love to do this some time. i would like to find a strong but small PSU that will work in the AIO.

I have don it on my first Beige.. I used an ATX supply from my old pc.. the jumper up at the back of the board needs to be switched to PC Mode.. I forget the text, but it will work fine..

On a side not an atx supply can be used all the way up to G4 Yikes/Sawtooth .. all that needs to be done is pin 18 needs to be disconnected or cut.. On an ATX supply its -5v and on the Mac its a ground.. I simply got an atx extension cable and removed the whole line for the pin 18 and kept the atx supply in tacked..
