Well,I received the PowerBook 1400cs from Jeffco (applemachome) today. Since I didnt have a rebuild or some form of spec sheet I wasnt sure how to put it back together. After about 3 hours of cussing, taking it back apart because I missed some stuff, I have a fully functional 1400cs/166. My question is, what is the white connector that is beside the CPU/ram cards (runs parallel to the cards themselves).

If I remember correctly...if you've got the stock 16MB RAM in it, the slot is the RAM slot. **BUT** It's been months since I sold my 1400 so I can't say for sure...
You like your Macintosh more than me, don't you, Dave? Dave? Can you hear me, Dave...?
Well, it has a 32mb ram card in it, and a smaller card between that and the CPU (like 3 cards in a series). Then running alongside them on the side closest to the kb is that wierd looking conector. It looks like a ram slot, but in that odd position?
... that Im a dork? That was the expansion slot I was looking at. mybad.
Erm...I told you about expansion cards last night on aim....where did you think they went? The only cards that fit are an external video card (mirror only, methinks) and an ethernet card and maybe a modem if i can recall.
I guess you did. Thats what I get for not paying attention I guess. :macos:
