so Apple have changed the case of the iBook 
which personally i don't like, but they say its for durability .
anyway, i was wondering with this new all-plastic case -instead of plastic on white like b4- is it still possible to create fantastic fantastic creations like the transparent sapphire, red and tsunami ibooks we've seen here in the case mods???

you cant make the case clear as its solid white plastic ... so tranclucent hacks are out of the question ...

A MacSkinz cover should still work fine, and you can paint a clear one or put inserts behind it. It's just not quite as easy as pulling 4 screws to change the insert though, and the MacSkinz are held on with double stick tape.

Hey jon, any idea what paint the people at macskinz are using to touch up these covers? I'm a relative idiot in terms of knowledge on all of this, but would love to eventually do something with my mac.
Check this out: last week, after researching online (but not enough) how to repaint an iBook, I attempted it. After a few hours of rubbing, and using various agents, I gave into the suspision the case was solid white plastic. But how was it all these other people had painted cases??? LOL. Anyway, I read a little farther and found someone complaining about the iBook 900's. What a pisser.

ok well here's another scenario:
its completely possible to exchange the whatyacallit.... the screen bezel (not the screen but the outer casing...) with the iBook G3s right? thats doo-able ima guessin?

but also you can replace the top casing trackpad of a g3 with a g4, coz it doesn't include th i/o ports right? i mean is the tech for that part any diff?
