Come to the VCF (Vintage Computer Festival) on November 4th and join in the fun by building a replica 1 at the replica 1 workshop. As a attendee of the workshop you will receive a replica 1 kit that you will assemble at the workshop.
Don't have much soldering experience? No problem, a mostly assembled version will be available upon request. Just bring your soldering iron, solder, needle-nose pliers, wire cutters and a multi-meter, and have fun in a class-room type environment. Ever wanted to build your own computer from scratch, now is the time.
The replica 1 requires a power supply, keyboard and monitor for operation. These will be available at the workshop for testing your replica 1 after you complete assembly.
Price of the workshop is $149 and that includes the replica 1 kit (A $10 savings from the retail price). The class is limited to 10 people so that I can spend as much time as necessary with everybody.
Visit the replica 1 workshop for more information:

Hope to see you there,

hmmm... too bad for me that its all the way on the west coast. This seems like an amazingly good time, and a very special opportunity for those interested in the Replica 1!!!
Yeah, I know. Maybe I can do this at the eastcost show next year too if they offer it.
Oh, yeah, Woz is going to be there too!
OH man, Woz there! I really have to go!! It's only like a 3 hour drive. Hope to see ya there Will he be helping you out with your session?
Not that I am aware of. There is going to be something reguarding Apple 30th and then he is going to sign autographs, that's all I know.
He'll no doubt be very much in demand, but I hope he takes an interest in the Replica.

I just purchased the replica 1 kit. I have no soldering experience. The web site recommends building "basic kits prior to attempting construction of the replica 1" Could you recommend some specific basic kits that I could purchase and assemble prior to attempting the replica 1?
Thanks
Ken
Well, I don't have any that I personally can suggest but here is some that look pretty nice:

The prices seem right too!

Ok, just an update. There are just a few slots left open for the workshop. If you are thinking about this you should sign up so you don't miss out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Vince
Ok, the workshop is now officially full. If you didn't get in, still feel free to stop by and say hi. I'll have a display at the VCF.
Cheers,
Vince
