I am wondering if knowledgable people here have an opinion about this- on the old CC forum, it was mentioned that to get composite sync from seperate H and V sync, one can avoid building a complicated circuit and just tie the H and V syncs together. This method has been used successfully in the imac-CC project.
However, today I ran across this page describing this as potentially damaging. This link within that page describes the issue further. While I realize most of the discussion there is about combining syncs with the green video for sync-on-green, it is also stated that simply connecting the syncs together might damage the video card. Anyone have any experience/opinions? Since a couple of people here seem to have successfully done this, I am wondering if the risk is overstated.
