Vedio PB 5300c
God help me as I swore I never would do this. I see this mistake all the time and it bugs me to no end.
buy- A verb meaning to exchange currency for goods or services.
by- a preposition meaning in the vicinity of or the agent of.
You forgot to correct the word "vedio".
That's the only reason I clicked on this topic. I saw "vedio" and was thinking, hmmm, what is that some new shareware I missed?
You could check the cable in the LCD portion of the case, otherwise it may be the LCD panel is on its last legs.
The "vedio" card doesn't impact the built-in screen. Chances are that you've got yourself a bum video cable. Try this first: remove the keyboard, remove the left clutch cover, pry up the video cable, reseat the video cable, reinstall the left clutch cover, reinstall the keyboard, reboot. Are the lines still there?
If so, try squeezing along the back of the display along the left side and near the center. Do the lines go away or get worse? If so, then it's most likely your video cable.
Even if they don't go away, it's still most likely the little ribbon video cable connecting the LCD to your motherboard. Replacing that is possible but doesn't make sense. Neither does replacing the entire LCD. The best solution at today's prices is just to buy yourself an entirely new 5300 and do a screen transplant or a RAM and HD transplant. Then you'll have plenty of parts left over for future breakdowns.
Please don't email me privately about this. I don't provide email tech support.

Sorry, just one of my pet language-peeves, the use of impact where affect is most appropriate.
Agreed, the problem most likely lies with that pesky vedio cable.

You got me!
But hey, maybe if you close the lid hard enough...
Peace,
Drew
Thanks, I tried what you said, and it worked. Thank-you for taking the time. "Video"
