I have an IBM ThinkPad T14p that has the same problem that the G4 iBooks have. The solder joints on the video chip have broken. The machine is out of warranty and I have already purchased a replacement laptop.
Thing is this is still a good system and I hate to just part it out on eBay. What I would like to do is try and get it repaired. Looking on the net a replacement planar is about $250. If i could find some one that would do the repair for about $100 that wold be great.
Shipping will increase the repair cost, assuming that you can find a firm who will try to fix. If you live in the Appalachians, for example, it may be difficult to find somebody locally.
