Hi there.
I've got an ibook g4 14" 1ghz that has a backlight problem.
When I start up, I hear the "happy" chime
I see images, but they are all dim.
I've linked a monitor to the laptop,
and I see the stuff showing on the monitor properly.
I figured that this was an inverter-related problem.
So I've tried changing the inverter board
changing the LCD
and the inverter cable.
Now I'm stumped because the problem has not been solved.
Could this be due to the laptop originally using a SUMIDA board
and the one I bought was an AMBIT?
Or could there be some other cause?
