The Sad Mac means an error wa

The Sad Mac means an error was encountered during the tests the Mac performs at start-up.

Often this can be remedied by re-seating the RAM. Also, if you have any external drives or peripherals connected, try booting with them disconnected.

By the way, it always makes it easier for us to help by your providing as much information as possible about your setup. From your other post here, I'm guessing this is your Classic II that's not booting.

Strange . . .

Hey,

When I get to "strange" on those old machines, I nuke and pave. Wipe the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

Right here:

Link

Download and install 7.5.3, then click on the "parent directory" in the link above and find the 7.5.5 update. Rinse and repeat.
