Do you think you could provide some more info. Like what kind of Powerbook, what OS, etc. Are the batteries working fine? I don't know what else would cause it.
It is a 1.25 g4 osx 10.4. And the batteries are working just don't last that long...
You might have luck resetting the power manager:
