SCSI / Power headers for Performa 550?

I'm looking for the plastic terminal bricks that adapt normal SCSI drives to work in the P550. I only have one, and it's proper place is on the Cd-ROM drive Wink I can't hook up a hard drive at the same time. Anyone know where I can get one?

Terminology?

I don't even know what a P550 is off the top of my head, but I assume you're talking about the IDC 50 Female connectors on a standard internal SCSI cable? Terminators are an entirely different animal, but anything you can imagine or will ever probably need and more has a picce for ID and is available at a reasonable (if not the lowest possible) cost over at cablesonline.com.

jt Wink

p.s. I just re-read your post and maybe what you're asking for is a "Y" power cable adapter for internal devices?

. . . which is certainly available there along with extensions, but you can get one locally too.

edge connector

I take it that you're referring to the adapter that plugs into the hard drives power and SCSI connector and has a sort of edge connector?

The drive sled . . .

. . . is about the only thing that should be even close to the same for HDD and CD . . . and they are two different sizes . . . there should be power and SCSI cables on the cable harness for your SCSI HDD.

If you're looking for another of those slide-in CD (edgecard type) SCSI/power/audio connector adapters that's about the only thing you won't find at cablesonline.com, it's an Apple specific part included with the 5.25" drive sled in an internal CD connection kit, IIRC.

I think we need a better explanation of what you are trying to do.

actually the edge-connector to IDE/power converter block works in both CD drives and HDs ... if that is what you want ive got one you can have for the cost of postage (if you are in the UK ... its probably not worth sending it anywhere else ;))

Will do! I'll make a trip in

Will do! I'll make a trip into the bowels of the lab and if I really did put them in the box that I think I did I should come up with a couple. And we sure will on Sunday... Mmm, the scent of smoldering piles of spent low-grade explosives... God bless the U.S.A.!
