My 8100 is playing up...... again! I installed Mac OS 7.5.3 on my mac and had to install the powerpc enabler for some reason although apple say that it doesnt need one for 7.5.3. Wierd. Anyway, Everytime i go into the Monitors control panel it says it isnt compatible with my macintosh, why?? I need to change the res and colour depth. Help me!

Thanks

Dunno . . .

. . . but do a clean install of 7.5.3 "for any macintosh" and if that doesn't fix the problem, try the 7.5.5 updater.

Eh?

What do you mean by 'For Any Macintosh'?? I have the one on gamba's site, the Unity-CD version. And I have tried to install the 7.5.5 update and it says that my mac isnt running 7.5.3, which it is. I have tried it with extensions off and it still doesnt work. What is wrong with this Bl***y mac!!!

Custom install . . .

. . . has some standard options, ususlly minimums and full installs for "this macintosh" and for "any macintosh" and the latter wil install a crapload of stuff you won't ever need along with everything you could ever possibly need.

Do a search for"system" and check for an extra system folder, that's a nasty one when it pops up.
