What motherboards will fit into a 5400/180 (with or without a back plate and back cover change)?
For instance will a 6500/300mhz fit? From what I gather that is the fastest of the slide out tray type motherboards.

The 6500 will fit just fine with a PCI riser swap and the back plate/cover swap. The 6500 board is the same board as a 5500, but with a two slot riser and a two slot back plate/cover. And the 5500 topped at the 5500/250, IIRC, so the only way to get the fastest board for your 5400 is the 6500/300 and go through the (rather quick) swap.
Thanks for the info. I'm off to search for the board! I would rather have the L2 G3 card but they are still over a hundred bucks!
