Display cards - top dog under OS 9?

Am I correct in thinking the Nvidia Geforce4 Ti4600 is the ultimate Mac display card with accelerated 3D support under OS 9? Anything faster which I'm overlooking? I intend to bump my current Mac gaming rig (QS 800/neé 733) to the fastest it can go under OS 9 and OS X.

My real question though is why doesn't there seem to be any literature describing flashing PC Ti4600 cards to Mac? It's possible according to what I've read, but no-one is selling flashed Ti4600 cards on eBay, nor have I found any Mac Ti4600 ROMs with which to do the flash. My PC's Ti4600 cost $90 and Mac Ti4600s usually cost ~$200 and upwards.

In any case, I'm going to find out myself as I've got a Mac Ti4600 on its way, plus I just got a PC Ti4600 for my PC. I'm gonna see what's what myself I guess.

BTW, I am aware of faster cards, but AFAIK none of those are supported under OS 9.

Eh?!?

So does anyone know of a faster OS9-supported display card?

Ok, so I got the Mac ROM from my Mac GF4Ti4600 and with it tried flashing my PC GF4Ti4600, but no joy. Anyone know how to successfully flash a PC GF4Ti to Macdom?

From what I have seen, all the PC Ti's are different then mac models. So therefore, I would say you cant. And I dont know of anybody on xlr8yourmac.com where I normally post who has either.

As for the top OS9 supported cards, for PCI its the ATI Radeon 9200 PCI. And for AGP its the Radeon 8500 AGP and the Ti4600 AGP.
