1st of a few updates....

Whether you guys care of not, here we go:

This is the oddest summer weather that I have ever lived through. I have lived in North Central Texas my whole life, and I can't remember a time when the average summer temperature was 85 degrees. Usually, the average for the traditional "summer months" (June, July, August) is about 97 degrees. Keep in mind, though, that "summer" here begins in late April and goes all the way to mid-October in a normal year. This year, though, we had one day that knocked on the door of the century mark, and that was in early June. Since then, we've had front after front cooling us off. There were a couple of days at the end of July and beginning of August that I woke up to 65 degrees.

There were two reasons that I bring up the abnormally cool and wet weather. First, late last month, my AC went out. Luckily, my wife and I have American HomeShield, so having someone come out and replace the fan motor (a $200 job) only cost us $45. But the kicker is, that it was the end up July, the AC is out, but the temp only got to about 88 outside. Any other summer, my wife woulda had to go stay with her mom until it was fixed (probably taking the animals with her) because it would've been 100 degrees in the house. Essentially, the AC could not have gone out at a better time...

The other reason that I brought up the weather is that I think *I* did it. I've been experimenting with Weather Wizardry and have obviously gotten pretty good at it. Either that, or my precognition (last winter I said that it would be a wet, mild summer) is better, and I'm just confusing the two. Either way, it means that my voodoo is better than your voodoo, yo...
