Can you get AIDS from a box?

Hi All,

One of my items came shipped from an HIV positive guy in an HIV medicine box...

Anyway...im 99.9% sure that its impossible to catch the diesase from a box, even if they sprayed the whole thing in bodily fluids.

Right?

Thanks

You're right

The AIDS virus is very fragile and can only survive a few hours outside of a living host.

Still...an unusual and unsettling packaging choice. But then I've moved with my things packed in hazardous chemical boxes, and have probably shipped out one or two things that way.

Careful!

As long as it dosen't come from the US Goverment, you should be fine.

Unsettling Packages

You have inspired me for Halloween. Perhaps the next time I pack up an eBay item I should get some "human blood" boxes from the red cross clinic to send it in. Or some "fragile, human organs" sealing tape from the hospital.

But on a serious note, HIV is not a worry from boxes in the mail. Only the hardiest viruses would survive an unprotected cross country trip in the mail, and HIV ain't hardy in the slightest.

Tape

I suppose so... why? You want to surprise someone with a specially wrapped present? :ebc:

I'll start a few casual inquiries and see what is what regarding 'biohazard,' 'medical waste' and 'human organs' labelled tape, boxes and so forth.

Mmm...no response from the guy I sent the box + auction items to...

Might be a good way not to get negative feedback / time wasters.

I have absolutley nothing in

I have absolutley nothing in mind, but if I had a roll of this tape in my drawer, I just know opportunities would present themselves!
