g3 imac internal device question

after seeing so many g3 imac to atx conversions, i had to try one!

so i bought a 500 mhz imac g3 board for realy cheap, and i got power and everything hooked up,

my question is, is there anyway i can get 2 ide devices, cdrom and hard drive on the same ribbon cable? i know the imput on the imac logic board is scsi, but if i remove the 10 extra cables on the scsi and it still works with one device, but not two.

how can i solve this issue?
i dont have a scsi device, only ide!

thanks~!

All slot loading iMacs used t

All slot loading iMacs used two IDE devices off that single "SCSI" connector. Both the hard drive and the DVD drive on these iMacs are IDE devices. The 50 connector is just a 40 pin IDE connector with an extra 10 pins on one end for power. I have successfully hooked up two IDE devices to the slot loading iMac motherboard. You can't use a standard ribbon cable, though. You need to flip one of the two connectors on a standard IDE ribbon cable to make it work. I forget precisely how it is done but if you have the original ribbon cable that came with the iMac you can figure it out.
