. . . doesn't say that the cardboard tube/spool hasn't been cut or rejoined, only that the tape hasn't.
I'd start with two rolls of 3/4" tape and unspool one onto a reel. Cut and splice the cardboard tube onto the other one and then respool the tape. Afterwards, re-slit both rolls to 1/2" so that they look identical and the edges are perfectly clean.
You'd probably have to make up a specialized slitter or at least a funky two part spool for a standard slitter, but it doesn't seem difficult. The equipment in any vinyl converter's shop is made to do just this kind of thing.

I don't think it's impossible... considering all the crap the machines produce.
is there a possible way for me to restore my imac if i dont have the discs???
I dont think sellotape will halpe...
