I am really surprised no one has mentioned this yet. I am still in shock over the news that IBM sold off it's PC division. I have to admit to a bit of sadness. I've owned many computers throughout the years. Although I've been primarily an Apple user, the best non-apple computer I've ever owned was an IBM thinkpad.
Though IBM doesn't have the same design philosophy Apple has in regards to form and function, IBM made rock solid machines. Quality machines! The same cannot be said for many of it's competitors. I hope that Levono (the company that bought IBM's PC division) will do a good job keeping up with the standards that IBM set. I have a bad feeling that it will for a while, and they will start pumping out cheap flotsam for the sake of a few extra bucks worth of profit.
I for one, will miss IBM in this market. They were an old school player in the game. Slightly ironic that Apple lasted longer in the PC industry then old blue blue though, huh?
