MAC 9600 w/G3 upgrade + UMAX 500 $70 for both.
Found this in a local classified. He also told me that the 9600 has a XLR8 MACH G3 card and a Asantefast 10/100 BT NIC and that the Umax had a TV card. I think it's a good price and was just wondering. Also is it alright that I post these "what would you pay for ______"? I checked ebay and there aren't really any completed auctions, most Mac resellers tend to have only newer used stuff and I was just trying to get a feel right away for the price of this stuff.
When you consider that buying on the net means you most likely are dealing someone whom you cannot easily track down later and you will also have to pay for shipping, the deal seems more fair than not.
eBay is only really good for seeing what the most a person is willing to pay for said object. Nothing wrong with asking here if the value of a Mac is well paired with a given dollar value, but the forums are more about telling you how to get the maximum value from said Mac. Consequently, you may not always get the answer you seek.

That's me, with 4 six-slot PowerMacs, 1 9500 and 3 9600s. Only one is still used regularly, the 9500 on which my server runs (see my sig.)
Thing is, do you really want/need those Macs? Or are you just interested because they are . . . there.
As for price, $70 is reasonable (and consistant with current Mac pricing) and if presented with same I'd be tempted to bite too.

Well as far as buying from the net this posting was not from an ebay type place but from craigs list. I went to the local section and there it was. No shipping because I can pick it up.
Dan K:
Now why did you go and make me think all rationally ;). Yeah, I guess I'd have to say that I don't HAVE to have it....but....you know how it is.
thanks for the responses.
...my point was only that when comparing the two options, $70 for a face to face deal is better than $70 PLUS shipping.

You don't say what system is used on the Mac, but make sure you get the OS CD and Restore CD with it. If you don't and you have system software problems requiring a system reinstall, you won't be able to. The alternative is to buy the CDs on eBay or from a Mac web store.
