Well, there is two issues...
1: The PLL settings will have to be changed if the processor came with an MDD with a 167MHz bus, as the DA has a 133MHz bus. So the processor will run slower in the DA without a change.
2: You need to supply 12VDC to the 4th leg on the CPU module, otherwise the machine will not boot.
1. The MDD proc will not physically fit in anything besides a MDD or XServe.
2. See #1, Stuka is thinking of a quicksilver proc.
hmm, could have sworn the MDD needed a 12VDC feed as well. I didnt think of the card size itself.
I'd be curious for a final ruling on this issue. Is it simply the size of the card that is a problem? I thought the connector was different, too. That would be great for me if it was just a size issue since I planned on using it in a different case.
It isn't a case size issue, one of the RAM DIMM connectors is in the way as I recall. I don't have both pieces to check, but that is what superdork Tycho originally stated when he had MDD parts for sale and pictures agree.
I scoped out putting an MDD CPU into my QS. While the connector is the same for QS and MDD, it's a no go as the MDD CPU would overhang the ram . . . or the AGP slot . . . or something, I forget the exact problem just now, I'd look up the earlier AF thread but I'm too lazy.
However, it appears a more serious problem is that the earlier AGP G4s are based on the UniNorth chipset and the MDD is not. (Do I have that right?) :?
It seems unlikely one could ever get past that lil' issue.

Ok, i´m running a original 466 Digital Audio porocessor, but i have a QS 867 processor...
exactly how i made the correcrt transformation to put this processor in my DA Motherboard?
