Hey!
A fellow Fritterian here was kind enough to provide me with info on how to make a "Macintosh SE/30" talk.
I was told to go here > http://macfaq.org/software/misc.shtml#Q1.5.3
Here's what that site said:
"If you have System 6, you need the "MacinTalk" extension from Apple's web site > ftp://ftp.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/disability-solutions/shareware/MacinTalk.sit.bin
Drop it into your System Folder and restart.
Once MacinTalk is installed, you can take advantage of programs such as the "MacTalker" desk accessory or the "VoiceBox" control panel.
Thanks to its author, James Joaquin, MacTalker is available once again for public distribution > www.io.com/%7Ebaggins1/MacArchaeology/mactalker.sit"
Unfortunately, both sites were dead.
My questions.....
1] What is a "MacinTalk" extension?
2] Where do I get it?
3] If someone has it, can they email it to me, please? > cary@rome.com
4] What is the "MacTalker" desk accessory?
5] Where do I get *that*?
6] If someone has *that*, could they please email it to me? > cary@rome.com
7] What is the "VoiceBox" control panel?
8] Where can I get *that*?
9] If someone has it could they please email it to me? > cary@rome.com
Later!

Hey,
Try here:
http://www.speech.cs.cmu.edu/comp.speech/Section5/Synth/macintalk.html
Or, run "Macintalk" throught Google.com/mac.html
macintalk is here.
All 'fritters should bookmark that main directory (download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/), it's got tons of useful items inside.
hth,
