even i'm sick of seeing my posts by now--thank you for all the replies to the earlier posts. i have one last question: does apple currently have any contracts with television stations or radio stations or magazines (any form of media) to help push or advertise its products?

Apple's advertisement is handelled by another firm, but I'm sure they have all creative control. Chiat Day is the one that they use currently, I think. They have many, many advertising outlets. I've seen Apple ads on TVs, in magazines, on posters, on billboards, on stickers in the subway, and Apple is notorious for product placement in movies.
