would the ram in the attached pic work in a clamshell ibook? it is described as laptop pentium 3 ram infineon 512mb pc133. previously used in a dell inspiron i believe. thanks

If it snaps into place, yes. PC66, PC100, and PC133 will work in your clamshell. 512mb modules are hit or miss with clamshells. It may or may not show up 100%. At worst, it'll show up as a 256.

thanks! so theres not really such a thing as 'p3 specific' memory? i.e. in general it should work ok in my ibook (and any other non p3 laptop)?
have looked about the net. it wont fit - the slit on the bottom of the chip is not near enough to the middle of the module.
Looks like DDR266,2100, etc. It's definately not PC133. Looks like it'll work in an AIbook though.

Correct, that's a DDR module and will not work in a clamshell/toilet seat ibook
