Hello,
I have recieved a Beige G3 with OS 9.2 and RCA output jacks. My plan is to use the tv as a monitor. I can turn on video mirroring from the control strip when using a monitor but cannot find a way to turn it on automatically under OS 9. Does anyone knows how to set mirroring on during boot?
TIA
Mak

G3 TV Video Mirroring
It requires the OS to do it with software. So i think it is out of the question when you have the machine still booting up, to display it out the Personality card.
the only thing I can think of is to write an Applescipt to turn it on when at the desktop. But that will most likely require an extended script descriptions, and a little bit of tinkering. Not to mention, learning how to code Applescript (the automated "watch me do this and record what I do" method won't do it)
I have discovered another applefritter article http://www.applefritter.com/node/4757. i am going to try the Monitor Control Panel trick.

I would not need to see it booting, if somthing goes wrong i can hook it up to a monitor anyways. The applescript way would work but i do not know enough applescript to write somthing like this.

Install VNC server on the G3 (i used chromivncserver)
Select the TV Mirroring Control Strip
turn on TV Mirroring (At this point VNC Viewer freezes and you need to press enter on the G3's Keyboard)
When the Video appears on the TV click ok
Presto!
