Does anyone know the number for the correct Chicago switch that’s on the PSU? Chicago switches are still available as I have a Chicago 161-099-019. Looks physically identical in every way to the original used but the switch doesn’t stay in the on position. Springs back to off when you release your finger. Hopefully someone’s had to replace this switch before.
Randy
Your switch that springs back has a momentary option. Switch designs are made to handle several different options in the same housing and this is specified in the full part number. A two-position switch with a momentary option would be designated "SPST Off-(On)" on its datasheet (the parentheses are for momentary contacts). To find a similar switch with non-momentary contacts you need "SPST Off-On".
Chicago Switch seems to be defunct, but the picture available from a part dealer of the 161-099-019 looks similar to Carling TIGA51-1S-BL-NBL which is the model with the options that I think are required (.250" tabs, single pole, single throw, Off-On, with smooth actuator and press-in bracket).
Alternatively, TE PRCSA1-20F-BB000
Check the specs against your mounting hole size
Thanks for that info. I checked the hole size for the ones you posted and the hole required is much larger than on the psu. I understand the on/off momentary now and how it’s listed in the part number. I wrote the people I got these from and maybe they can help me find a switch that fits the hole.
Thanks again
The way to go about this is to measure the hole and search for a rectangular rocker swich to fit the opening.
There are numerous offerings from various manufacturers available, and I wager that at least several will have the "look" you are desiring.
Digikey and other online suppliers have search criteria that include cutout dimensions.
Hi there - new to this forum but had to post a response...
When I last rebuilt one of those psu's I used this switch :

Hopefully this will fit your needs.
