I just pre ordered the book to build your own apple 1 replica. Will it be comming out soon ? I am very curious about it. Will the design of the apple 1 replica be the same as the replica from Vince Briel or is it a totaly different approach?

Woz fans will like this one!
I plan on getting the book when it comes out. I hope it come out soon. I can't wait.
I found a link on folkelore.org to Andy Hertfeld's new book and then there was a link to this book.

The book went to press late last week.
Oh, one more thing: the book comes with a special edition of the McCAD Electronic Design System for Mac OS 9 and X. This isn't the full $1500 package (it has some pin-count limitations), but it's large enough to design a microcomputer. I looked at a lot of schematic and pcb layout programs while I was writing this book and you'd have to pay about $500 to get a similar package elsewhere.

That software looks cool. I am downloading the LIte version right now.
I am really looking forward to this book. Building my own computer is something I have wanted to do for years, but I have always had trouble getting started. Every time I start researching one thing I think of something else a end just going in circles.
I asked my local book seller today and they said it was about 3-4 weeks out. I really hope that it is not that long.

I have been waiting for a book like this.
I am a electrical newbie and am ACHING to build my on PC.
I just ordered an Apple IIe Platinum keyboard from eBay. Any chance that keyboard would work with a replica?
So, am I safe in assuming that the book will tell me how to get everything I need, what I need to build the same replica that you sell?
THANKS!

That keyboard won't work (unless you add some circuitry of your own). You need an ASCII keyboard, such as from an Apple II+ or a PS/2 keyboard.
Yep. You'll probably want to buy the specialized ICs from Briel Computers ($30), but everything else is standard parts.
on Ebay..

I assume this would work in a replica?

Hi all,
Many time has passed since this post, but I think that it is the right one to post my question.
I was looking to buy this book and I looked for it in the Kindle Store... I found one version of the book that is more expensive that it is said in this webpage. After a little bit of search I found the same version on the iBook Store, a part of the version recommended in the webpage.
So my question is, what is the difference between these two versions? What is best worth to buy?
Recommended one: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/apple-i-replica-creation/id564082126?mt=11 (almost 200 pages)
The one I found: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/apple-i-replica-creation/id684700004?mt=11 (more than 400 pages)
Thanks and regards.
