hd15-13w3?

hi,

i have a silicon graphics monitor that i really want to use. i was wondering if it is possible to cut of the existing 13w3 cable that is on it and attach a regular vga cable, and if it is does anyone have a pinout for the cable wires?

The best answer I can give you is maybe.

Some if the SGIs used Sync-on-green and did not bring the desecrate h-sync signal onto a separate pin. On some the monitors you open it up and hook up the wire your self.
Take a look over at Reputable Systems web site. They have an article that describes how to do this.

Also, many of the SGI/Sun mon

Also, many of the SGI/Sun monitors are OEM'd Sony Trinitrons. Many are also fixed frequency. You might not get any video until Windows/X loads and sets the correct geometry/refresh. Otherwise you'll need a custom fixed freq. video card.

i have...

i have os x and a rage 128 video card(in a b/w). does this pose a problem?
