Trade Dell Inspiron 8600 for Powerbook G4

Hi guys!
This one is about 3 months old, 1.7 ghz Intel Centrino processor, built-in wireless, two USB ports, serial port, video-out, and 1394 port. It has a 17" display, 60 GB HDD, DVD+-/RW, and 512 MB DDR, and the Radeon 9700 Pro Turbo 128 MB graphics chip. I've never had any problems with this computer and the display is PERFECT, I'm extremely anal about these kinds of things and regularly use a cleaner and microfiber shammy to clean the screen. It also has the Microsoft Intellimouse, and a copy of Windows XP Home Edition as well as the Office Suite and the Service Packs. Everything is up to date and it contains a Norton Antivirus which is paid for up until this time next year. Its a great computer, however being a college student who has own PCs for years, I decided I would like to try owning a Mac and the powerbook G4 seemed perfect for me. I'm a film major and use Final Cut and iMovie quite a bit, but must always travel to my computer lab instead of being able to work on my stuff at home.
If anyone has any offers please send me an email at nettouhen@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do. Thanks for looking guys, I hope someone can help me out Smile

Hi!
I'm looking for a G4 that I would be able to upgrade, i.e. the videocard, memory etc. Or in another case throw in some extra money with the Dell to make up the difference, but that would depend on the specs of the PB of course Smile

As far as I know, there is no laptop (pc or mac) that has an upgradeable video card. So, if a low end powerbook g4's video card isn't powerful enough for you, you might want to consider a more recent model.

thanks for the information guskid, in some cases if anyone had anything up for a trade in that case I would certainly offer the laptop and money in exchange to make up the difference. More than anything I would need a powerbook that can have memory upgraded, which I've heard is possible, and would be most useful for when using programs like Final Cut, iMovie for my senior seminar.

Anyone have anything for offer or know where I could possibly look?

Thanks!

Tim
