Bootable Compact Flash->IDE adapters

I am wondering if anyone has actually used an IDE/compact flash adapter to successfully boot a Mac off of a compact flash card (or microdrive, which is more where I'm aiming). There are lots A year or two ago I bought one (I believe the brand was OnSpec?) which didn't work with the Mac at all, much less booting. I'm sure it's possible, but at $20 a pop, I envisioned quickly losing a small fortune trying to find one that would work. Anyone tried this and have any experiences to share?

Thanks.

I don't see why any wouldn't

I don't see why any wouldn't work, cf is an ide drive anyway so all the adapters are for is matching pins. My digital pic frame is booted off a 256mb cf card, though it is in a pcmcia adapter, not quite the same, but if you can get the right adapter it will work. I would go with a microdrive though, it won't wear out as fast as flash.
