Free or 4sale: TON of older Mac stuff; StyleWriter II's, LC III/475's, Apple Keyboard II's, and more (Apple IIe & IIgs too)

Well, I rescued a whole BUNCH of crap from my local middle school when they started weeding out the very last of their Mac stuff last year. I was in good with one of my old teachers (the only Mac guy in the building) and he helped me score the stuff. (I graduated highschool in 02, if t hat gives you any idea of the timefram since I was last IN middle school Blum 3 ). It's not just stuff from the school though, I have also been kinda...hoarding, if you will, Mac stuff for a while- simply because I didn't want to see it trashed. (I'm also a New Englander, and we're all pack-rats ^.^;; )

Anyway, I had sort of dreams of grandeur with some things, but never really got around to doing anything with them...and then it got to the point where I didn't wanna just trash them 'cause I can't do that to Mac stuff... I didn't wanna donate them to GoodWill or Salvation Army because none of it is stuff that the majority of people who go there would use (and i owuldn't want to stick the stores with stockpiles of crap that would never sell), and theres kinda no other venue in my area to get rid of them and not feel as though they'll be trashed.

So I wanna make them available to people who will actually give them SOME purpose...file server on a network? Low-end word processor for their kid? Spare parts? Something to just tinker around with? etc etc...

I haven't quite gotten everything organized, so unfortunately this info will be sort of haphazardly tossed together. My room is just insane right now because I have SO MUCH CRAP...here's an idea:
http://irev.net/eric-wright/room01.jpg
http://irev.net/eric-wright/room02.jpg
http://irev.net/eric-wright/room03.jpg
http://irev.net/eric-wright/room04.jpg
http://irev.net/eric-wright/room07.jpg
http://irev.net/eric-wright/room08.jpg
(dont bother looking for 5 or 6, they dont exist)
And there's even still much more stuff not pictured.

ANYway, here;'s the meat of the list from what I can pull off the top of my head. (the stuff that I'm getting rid of at least)

A bunch of LC III's and LC 475s, most with single-port or double-port PDS ethernet cards in them, and I beilieve they all had been maxed out in RAM (32mb chip?) before the school tossed them. Not sure about the hard drives, but I imagine they're whatever was standard fare at the time

Couple of ImageWriter II's; I'd like to keep one for posterity, but it really isn't worth it at this point...I can always find one again.

TONS of Apple Keyboard II's (the ones pictured here with the Classic II), and some other slight variants on the older ones

A handful of the Apple Extended keyboards; both the older ones and the newer Apple Design (or Apple Design II?) ones

StyleWriter II's for Africa! I don't need these infernal things!

-Grabbed a notepad and went around my room for more specific stuff-

1 "Apple High-Resolution Monochrome Monitor"
1 "AppleColor High-Resolution RGB Monitor"
(both the above visible in picture "room04.jpg" next to the heater)

3" Apple Color Plus 14" Display" (none have the button problem, to my knowledge)
1 Quadra 700
1 Mac IIci
1 Mac IIsi
1 PM 6100/66 (kinda gutted, but the DOS compatibility card is around somewhere...I just don't have that funky-ass cable for it and everything x.x;; )
1 LaserWriter IIf
1 LC 575
1 Performa 550
1 "Macintosh Portrait Display" (greyscale, and I have that weird-ass video cable to accompany it)
a Quadra 950 -faceplate- (kinda dirty) with speaker..I have a top-bay floppy drive bezel or faceplat or whatever too

Good condition Apple IIe, including all the little video/TV hookups and stuff, some manuals somewhere, software, and even the little 9" monochrome monitor that goes with it

A decent condition Apple IIgs with monitor, kbd, mouse, a couple drives

and TONS of ADB and power cables.... I'm sure there are a few ADB 1 or II mice around as well.
-------

Not sure how much to ask for, if anything... I'm just in the process of TOTALLY reworking my room, consolidating things, etc etc; and I cant hold onto this stuff any longer. I'm thinking maybe nothing for little stuff, 5 for simple things (the 475 or StyleWriters and etc), and maybe 10 or 15 bucks for the LaserWriter IIf, the IIgs, the IIe...but I may not stick to that. Don't quote me on prices just yet, 'cause I wanna see if people at least are interested to begin with. If you ARE interested in anything, if nothing else, you're at least paying shipping...I'm not doling out fourty bucks to pack and ship the laserwriter or anything monitor-related.

All of this stuff IS in working condition to my knowledge, but I will test and double check whatever someone wants before I say it's a go (come on, I'm not gonna send someone something if it's busted Blum 3 ). Some things may be missing this or that, I can give specifics if someone tells me what they're interested in (like the P550 has no cd drive, or if someone wants the Q700, I can fire it up and get the specs, etc etc). If someone wants any of the Macs period, and wants an OS installed on them; I can give a clean, FULL install of 7.1, 7.5.x, 7.6.1, 8.0/8.1 (for the Q700) on whatever machine[s] you want (for going to THAT trouble, I'm gonna charge 5 bucks though), and you can then go through and disable anything you don't want/need. I'll also clean the item off as much as possible, to a reasonable extent. (like, when I get something for MYSELF, say a used controller or something for a game system, I take it apart and use a toothbrush to scrub every individual piece with antibacterial soap and hot water...I'm not gonna do THAT on any of these things Blum 3 ).

Anyway, please, I hope someone out there wants any of this... I just can't keep it anymore. If I manage to start getting rid of it to people, I can go through more of things I have and don't need. I know I've got a ton of older RAM SIMMs here and there, assorted little PPC601-604 era internal thingies, and so forth.

Either reply here or give me an email ( spilskinanke2097 -at- yahoo.com ). These things are up for grabs indefinitely, until I post otherwise (so like if you're reading this a month after I posted it, still get in touch if there's something you want)...and I guess that's all I have to say Smile

ugh

what, can I not edit my own initial posts?

Anywa,y slight correction... not a IIe, it's a IIc ^.^; sorry about that, all the other stuff still is correct though

Not only do I have the monochrome 9" monitor for the IIc, but I also have the 13 or 14" color RCA-video monitor with riser for the IIc as well.

I've also got the Quark replacement keys for the Apple IIe (and I MEAN the IIe this time :P) still in their shrinkwrapped little pack. I guess whoever I got the II_c_ from, had bought Quark 'cause the IIc Quark replacement keys are already installed on it... they probably didnt need the IIe ones, but kept them anyway

geez, you are a pack rat :o i

I am also interested in the 400k external floppy in the same pic. and what classic macs are in pic 4? got any system 6 stuff? and, I am looking for any PDS cards for my LCIII, even a network card. I allready have a net card, but the software doesnt appear to be installing (it is a Dyna Comm. Inc card, btw). let me know what you got. thanks! -digital Wink

nono, that's why I listed the

nono, that's why I listed the stuff I'm willing to sell.. the pictures were just for generic example ;P The G3 AIO is one of my main 3 computers actually (it's got a 400MHz g3 proc in it), the other two are a PM6500 (w/ 350MHz G3 card), and some chintsy little 266 or 300mhz pentium II or III pc... I need them XD
The compact macs in picture 4 (the ones past the stop sign, yes?) are part of my collection. My first Mac was a Classic II, so I'm trying to get every compact Mac that was made (hence also why I have a G3 AIO)...they're not available, but if you were curious, they are a 512k, 2 Plusses, an SE (700kb, not FDHD), an SE/30 (with 128mb ram and ethernet card, once used as webserver), Classic (with RAM expansion card, so 4mb ram), and a Classic II. I have a Color Classic, but I did the whole Power Color Classic mod to it, and will occasionally stick my PM 6500's mother board and hard drive in the CC case whenever I have to bring work with me...or if I just wanna have MY music when I'm somewhere else Blum 3

ANYway, back on track...
400k external floppie...that's the 5.25 drive right? No problems letting that go...except that I have no way to test it. I don't have any machine that could recognize it set up to function...I DO have the apple IIc and IIgs, but I know shit about them (sad really, when I used to use them in first grade, I knew all about them -.-; ) I believe it works, but unless you think I could test it by hooking it up to say the SE/30 or something, I can't give you a guarantee.

By system 6 stuff, what do you mean? Software? not really anything other than my handful of system disks...and I kinda can't give those up ^.^; I DID have some software package that had a ton of 2001 and 2010 sounds on it; it would install soundmanager and let you select all these different sounds for different actions. THe sounds were all clips from the movies...say for example, when you go to shut down your plus or whatever, you would hear Hal... "Goodbye, Dave." ...but that's LONG gone as far as I know...it MAy still be lurking around, but damned if I'll ever find it until about half of everything I've acquired is gone Blum 3

PDS card for your LC III, I could grab one of the ethernet cards out of the machines I've got...I believe they're all one of 2 brands, Fallon, or Asanté...in either case, both manufacturers used chipsets that the Mac could automatically pickup on, so you wouldn't have any problems... Why not just get one of the LC 475's? I mean, they're nothing compared to today's computers (obviously) but an 040 will do more than your 030 Wink

sorry, I didnt know the AIO i

sorry, I didnt know the AIO is part of your collection. and the 400k drive is the 3.5", lest that goes with your 512k. those are some nice compact macs. I myself have an upgraded 128k/512k to a Plus that i got from my biology teacher that he saved from the depths of hell. he also gave me a SE and SE FDHD, but the FDHD has a broken tube. I switched it's HD with the one in the other SE. it then worked, as the other SE's HD was giving the flashing ? disk. funny thing is, he does all his grades on his SE (yes, I HAD to give it back to him Sad )every paper we get from him have been printed from there to his laserwriter, so when he does grapix, the look f-ed up. if I can, i will scan one. he also hangs a banner up every week with something on it, and a few pics, all done on his SE. I am kicking myself for not getting system 6 offa his machine before I gave it back, but I have only been a mac freak since he gave me the Plus back in september, and I didnt know that much at the time.

anyways, the upgraded plus onlu has 1mb in it, the apple logo has a worn white spot on it, original kb and mouse, an external HD 20 (floppy port one) and external FDHD that came in the box that I got both (HD20 and FDHD) offa Ebay, along with my LC III and monitor. I have a shit load of software I can copy if you want. oh, the kPlus runs 6.0.4, but i WANT 6.0.8, and the LCIII cant access the internet (no browser and fooked software). oh, my LCIII has a LC475 board in it, so it runs on a 040 (I upgraded it).

well, I really dont see anything i want/need. sorry. -digital Wink

I would like the Quadra, if you still have it. Also, what condition is the PM 6100 in? If it is in working condition, I will take that too. Let me know what you can do. Thanks!

The Quadra 700? Yup still got

The Quadra 700? Yup still got it... as far as what it's got, you'd have to give me a little bit to check because I've since started re working my room, and don't have anywhere to set things up (this AIO is kinda percariously placed too) ^.^;; Planning on throwing out the Performa 500, a couple Apple Color Plus Displays as it stands

would you want a new/clean system on it too, etc etc.. please email me actually, it's easier to communicate through there. The 6100 has already been asked for, but it's still in the air for now... my email is spilskinanke2097(a)yahoo.com

Mac Stuff

Wow! Mac booty!

Frankly my interests are rather boring, though. I am a girl in search of cables, adapers, and connectors....BNC cables, DVA to anything else adapters, ethernet cards, and any scsi hard drive over 5mb - happy to pay (I can even send you some ads as to what they might be worth - might help with your great lot o' stuff...) and ship.

Also, a girl can't have too much RAM...thanks in advance, I look forward to hearing more.

your stuff you posted on the Marketplace Forum

I am interested in a dot matrix and/or laser printer that hooks up to an old Mac serial printer port (I have a Powerbook 5300c and a 7600 132hz Power PC in two residences 120 miles apart with only one printer) I need an older type printer for the Powerbook so I can use my Mac software instead of Windows software. I recently purchased an HP USB printer that is PC and Mac compatible but cannot hook up the Powerbook to it. I cannot find a converter that converts serial to USB and supports AppleTalk. Next best thing is to get an old printer. I could use a dot matrix or a laser printer or both.

I am interested in anything you may have in the way of a color monitor or an older Mac with a color monitor that I can network with my powerbook. I have a PC to Mac monitor adapter and a powerbook monitor adapter.

I am willing to pay for the items, your time, and shipping.

I plan on sending this same email to the one you have in the post.

Thanks

My apologies to anyone who wa

My apologies to anyone who was interested in anything, or to anyone who emailed me or pm'ed me about stuff. Since I had gotten more hours and then full time at my job last year, I had less and less t ime to pay attention to the net. Two weeks ago, I not only LOST my job (and thus all health benefits and income to pay for gas and other necessities) but I also lost my girlfriend whom I had been together with for over two and a half years... It's been rather stressful, and I've been slowly closing all these loose ends I've left behind, so I can try to start anew. I completely forgot about this post here (and basically AppleFritter in general) until I got an email from someone that said

"i mabey buy apple IIe (or get free) also monitor.
: )
ps get anything free"

and I hate to say it I think I've gotten rid of that, and pretty much all my other stuff.. people have taken it off my hands (I thank them for that) and the rest of it I just had to drop off at GoodWill.

I HAVE NOTHING ELSE, or the things I do have- I just dont have any time to devote to or bother with sending. I'm very sorry if anyone feels like I have mislead them, but my life just comes before the internet. I'll respond to the two PMs I have in my forum inbox, and then I probably won't be on this forum again for a LOOOOONNNGGG time, if at all. I just don't have the time, or resources, or concern anymore to fart around with all this old Mac stuff. I still use my G3 upgraded 6500, and the 400mhz g3 upgraded AIO, but I just recently bought a 2GHz Compaq and stuck a clean install of WinXP on it, and I've been using that for burning and backing up cds and dvd's.. I can do everythnig I need with the three computers I have, so I don't need to cling to these older things anymore. (I think I personify things WAY TOO MUCH, no?)

replacement apple IIc stuff.

Hi. I just saw your message of June 2004 on the forum regarding a load of old Apple stuff you have and wish to get rid of. I hope you still have what I am looking for.

I have an Apple IIc, but recently the monitor, its stand and all of the cables (including the power supplies for the monitor and computer) got ruined. Also a single button mouse for the IIc was ruined. I wish to replace the ruined items so i can get my Apple IIc running again.

I have no idea what these things are worth now, but i did see some complete Apple IIe and IIgs systems going on Ebay for about $50 (not sure of the condition). Anyway, I would like to know if you have the bits i required, and if so, are you willing to sell / give them away?

I would of course also be interested in a colour display for the IIc, and the RGB equipment you mentioned. I never got to play with an IIgs so i would like to have one of those to experiment with as well, but the most important thing for me at the moment is to boost up my Apple IIc to get it running again, and the accessories you mention sound like what I need.

(One further thing... I am in Australia. This might be a problem depending on where you are. But anyway please respond as I would appreciate anything you might have to offer. I think there may be a power supply or cable issue if you are not in Australia, but if you know of anyone who might have the right power supplies / cables for me, please let me know.

Apologies... I just saw some more recent posts that indicate that you may no longer have any stuff or the time etc. Sorry to hear about your situation. If there is anything you can do to assist, it would be appreciated, but i understand if you cannot.
