Mystic Monitor Geometry off

I have an interesting dillemma. The left side of my screen is a little smaller than my right (slants). I looked at the CC geometry adjustment pages and none of those choices fits my problem, even though I did go ahead and try to use the controls to see if I could get it into shape.

What can be done about this situation?

Yoke?

You could try to open up the machine, loosen the yolk (by loosening the yoke retention screw), and - CAREFULLY - see if it will rock ever so slightly side-to-side on the CRT neck. If the yoke is a little crooke - if one side is slightly closer to the front of the neck than the other - it could produce the problem you're describing.

But maybe someone else here has a better idea.

Yoke retention screw

Hi. Where is that? I don't see it in any of the manuals. Is there just one of them?

Thanks, tmtomh

Never mind - I now see the info about adjusting the yoke in the original CC service manual. Wish me luck. I'll try that tonight.

My two cents (or tuppence if

My two cents (or tuppence if you prefer) is to only try the yoke as an last resort- once you start moving that thing around, if something gets messed up it can be hard to get back to the way it was.

mark the yoke tabs beforehand

Just make sure you mark the purity tabs before you start moving 'em, you'll be fine.

Worked!

Thanks to all! Moving the yoke has helped considerably!
