How can I add this sensor to my old 1.33 Ghz 17" PowerBook to park its HardDisk?
I have used a program called amstracker and AMSVisualizer on a Motion Sensor equipped machine and these hacks work as described. Now I would like to use them on an older PowerBook with the Sensor Hardware mod.
What type of hardware is it?
What are the specs?
And where do I get one?
Can something be built for the PCMCIA slot?

PowerBook Motion Sensor
I've not looked at the service manual yet, but I was under the impression that it is built into the drive.
Downloading now will let you know.
It's built onto the logic board. Doesn't say who makes it...

Use that, a serial to usb chip, and a kext. That should work.
There is an enormous amount of info on the web about Motion Sensor technology.
I was never aware of all the possibilities.
Thanks Amit Sihgh (NOT APPLE COMPUTER) for this eye opening wakeup call.
Here's some stuff for all of us newbies to checkout.
