I went down to my local Apple reseller earlier today because I needed another mouse for my Mac Plus, and I knew that they had one labeled "Written Off" living in the service area that could be had for a small contribution to the coffee fund. I'm happy to say that I got that mouse, as well as walking out with one of the new Mighty Mice.
I had to turn the scroll sensitivity way up, but other than that minor adjustment, I'm quite happy with it so far. I normally avoid rev A products, but after playing with it for a few minutes, I was sold. Though I'll admit that it's more because I wanted a two button mouse that actually looked like it belonged to my iBook instead of being an add on.
Has anyone else gotten one of these yet? What do you think?
I have had mine for a few weeks now and I love it. Works great with my iBook G4 and both of my iMac G3s. Now Apple needs to make a BT version...
I have heard great praise about them, 'cept the M$ lover in the local newspaper (He diss's every machine or product that is not made but M$, B@**ard.) I talked to Word03, and he got one. He loves it!. However, I don't know if it would work with my iBook, seeing as how it would have to have a long enough cord to get to the right side of my laptop. I still haven't been able to play with one. They seem really cool.
Works fine for my 12" iBook, might be a bit short for a 14"
My full review:
...so far, I am loving it! Same issues as everyone else with scroll wheel sensitivity--set to the "highest" level and it worked great. I do wish they had hit with a BT option, but this will still allow me to take my BT Pro Mouse on the road with me and it will now be my dedicated travel mouse, with the Mighty Mouse becoming the desktop mouse. So I am still happy.
BTW, great review, BDub. I had read it before I saw your post here. Didn't know you wrote for them! Cool!
I know I am going to get attacked but here I go.. Has anybody tried it under M$ Window$ XP?
Just for a laugh, tried it on my sister's Latitude. It works, not surprisingly, like a 4 button mouse. I couldn't get it to scroll anywhere except up and down, but that's the only issue I ran into.
On the original topic, I love my Mighty Mouse. It's not the best to look at, but after a while the somewhat funky style grows on you. The trackball rocks! All the buttons work flawlessly, as advertised. Feels nice in either hand as well.
I use the middle button to activate Exposé - All Windows, the side button(s) to open Dashboard, and the left/right buttons as usual. It's surprisingly good at inceasing my productivity at work, but at home I love pressing the sides just to hear the cool 'click'!
