15in Aluminum Powerbook and Loose Screen...

Anyone know what might be causeing this? The screen is really loose and wobbles, not as stiff as when I first got it. I am hoping that I can jsut pull it apart and tighten some screws?

A few pointers

First and foremost, is it under Applecare or the factory warranty? If so, have an Apple dealer take care of it. If not, then maybe I can help. Is it the actual lcd that's loose or the entire top half of your PowerBook that is loose? To do any repairs on an aluminum 15" PowerBook, you'll need a Torx T-6, T-8, and a precision phillips head screw driver. Taking apart a 15" aluminum PowerBook is not something I'd really recommend for someone who isn't terribly experienced in laptop repair.

Nope it is not under the warr

Nope it is not under the warrenty any more Sad ... And well I am pretty good with taking apart stuff and putting it back together(I have taken apart other laptops in the past just cause). Anyways I belive it to be the entire top lid, seems to wobble, and looks to me like at the hinge area it seems look, also the spot where the hinge attaches to the lcd seems a tad loose. I feel if I dont do something quick it will jsut get worse and one day my display will fall off. I was actually planning on getting the Torx this week and a small phillips screw driver and taking it all apart on sunday to see if I can find what needs tightened, etc. Any help would be great.

Hinges?

Does it seem possible that it's only the hinges themselves that are loose? If so, you can't fix those without replacing them. A new hinge assembly won't set you back much.

I think it might be jsut the hinges, but when I have looked those are still about $250.
