Set "Comment Viewing Optons"

Set "Comment Viewing Optons" to "Flat list, expanded", "Oldest First".

These smileys can easily be changed and new ones created. In fact, we can very easily replace any string of text with any image.

This is definately going to take some getting used to. Luckily there's lots of time to get used to it, but so far I like the old format better.

Huh? you hit reply, you get to preview it, and then you post it. You want a new line you hit return.

Aha!

"Threaded list" actually makes sense, once you get used to it... since there's no quote boxes.

What's your hardware/os/browser combo? Maybe it's only working alright in some browsers at the moment...

Posting from 6500/OS 9/IE 5.0

Doesn't seem to be any problems in getting a line break here. Possibly a software specific gremlin on your machine? I don't have anything that can access the 'net running anything less than 9.0 so I can't test my theory of it being something to do with OS 8.6

It doesn't really seem like this software was designed for forum use. I like it but the thread formatting isn't too great. Still readable and all but pretty featureless.

Re This Sucks

1) Avatars haven't been turned on yet! Someone with better knowledge of PHP than myself needs to do this.

2) If you've set a signature in your profile then one will appear when you reply to a message. Personally I like the option of not including a signature - or editing it on a post-by-post basis...

It's A Work In Progress

I can see there are a lot of quirks to work out, so I'll try to be as patient as possible.

This Drupal has great potential, but all the new stuff is gonna take some time to get acclimated to, for everyone.

Note: First Af 2.0b Post. (relatively painless)

Trying a single line break here
Trying a double line break here

This is a test of a theory... And it rings true. To get stuff on a new line you have to put in a double line feed. Then you end up with a blank line in the middle of everything. Blum 3

Yeah, I came to that conclusion yesterday after I found out that we can use wiki markup in our posts (which I like!)

From Wikipedia:

A single newline has no effect on the layout.
These can be used to separate sentences within a paragraph.
Some editors find that this aids editingand improves the ''diff'' function.

But an empty line starts a new paragraph.

Alternatively you can use <br> tags to break lines.

Moderate Comments?

Whats with the "moderate comments" menu? Why is it on every post, and why doesn't it do anyting? And why isnt' there a place for Newton discussion? And why are we all posting everything in the "Hacks" section?

The new fora

I like it so far. I think we need a couple of better templates, probably. The default one makes it a bit hard to differentiate between posts and such. The unconed theme is better for differentiation, but it isn't very Applefritter-ish.

Bleh... this sucks!

Could you PLEASE use better forum software? Pretty please? With sugar on top? With a few code hacks phpBB and Drupal can share the same database...

The forums!

I have grande plans to write a new forum module that looks like YaBB. Unfortunatley, I'm back at school.

We shall see.
