I am hacking together an old 700Mhz eMac into a performa 6115CD case and want to use an ATX power supply to run it (SFX specifically). The ATX specification indicates that they have an optional pin to shut down the fan if desired (though the newest specs actually seem to depreciate this in favor of the PSU controlling the fan itself).
What I am uncertain about is the Apple sleep mode. Do apple PSU's receive a specific signal to go into deep sleep mode or do they automatically shut down the fan when the load from the mobo drops to a particular level?

THey receive a shutdown signal and the motherboard runs off the 5VSB rail which is always on.
