I've got a Dell Latitude (and my wife an Inspirion). Both running XP Pro.
Does anyone know the system preference to turn off the trackpad's tap-finger click function? It's kind of annoying when moving your pointer around the desktop and it inadvertently thinks you click something when ya don't.
That and the mouse-over description windows that pop-up on mouse-over of many desktop and menu-bar items.

some more poking around after posting this. I found the trackpad is a Synaptics branded device. I found a driver which will disable the touch-click and other options at their website here.
