I didn't need a dvd decoder card in my Beige G3, I was even able to use apple dvd player, but it played very slow and jerky. (but I was playing it from the drive) You might just try it without the decoder card and use a program like VLC media player, or somehow get the program from the mac os x dvd. Use pacifist (it's a package file explorer for osx) to get it. Good Luck!
