That's it, time to buy

WinTel PC emulator accelerated for Intel Macs

OpenOSX Wintel is available starting at $25 ... acceleration for Intel-based Macs, which OpenOSX claims leads to a 200 - 400 percent performance improvement compared to the previous release.

Universal Binary ... a new preference that lets you use optimized or non-optimized binaries ...

... The CD comes with open source operating systems ready to run on x86-based systems, including FreeBSD, Red Hat Linux, FreeDOS and more. It’s been successfully tested using Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows XP Professional.

Dual booting would be nice, but I think having Windows and Mac apps open side by side is even better.

Letting a Windows install run

Letting a Windows install run sandboxed is a better idea anyway. Then, any malware that comes in won't have direct acces to the hardware, and possibly the OS X86 install.

Yeah, but it won't have to em

Yeah, but it won't have to emulate the CPU, so it should be decent fast.

Bochs =/= Fast

My experience running Win98SE in the Bochs environment on a P4 running Windows 2000 was unbearable. It took hours to install from an ISO image and was too slow to use. The same PC ran VirtualPC 2004 tolerably. I hope that Bochs has improved.

It does say that they've modi

It does say that they've modified it for better speed. I can olny guess that they've gone ahead and removed some of the CPU agnostic instruction translations and made direct x86 to virtual machine x86 codes. And runnign dual cores will make the dang thing pretty fast. They coudl almost dedicate a core to just Bochs.
