Several Hacks

I just updated a couple old hacks and added a few new hacks at my site. I did this at the same time as I converted everything to CSS so there may be a few bugs among the pages. If you find one let me know via email.

The added/updated hacks are Diamonds (major 6400 mod), a Clear Airport, a mod I did to my GT-270s (display for the wearable mac), Fractalbook, and the Mini iMac (a nasty 6100 hack that I should have burned- I just recently found color photos of it). Theres also an teaser image of the project I'm working on now.

Nice, but...

Some of the text is hard to read. The light grey against the metal background is difficult to read. You might try something with more contrast. If you are using CSS site-wide, it would be pretty simple to change your glocal CSS file and update everything at once.

Otherwise, nice.

Peace,
Drew

The Pico search bar is wider

The Pico search bar is wider than the rest of the bar. It blocks part of the pages. I tried using it and it was bog slow to send the results of the search. I really hope it isn't doing real-time indexing of your whole site, as several people doing alot of searching on your site would bog things down quite quickly.

I get a "This page could not be found" error from the .Mac site when going to the wearable page.

Got a screen shot of the messed up Pico Search table? It looked fine when I tested it. As for how slow it is, it isn't realtime searching and it isn't used too much. I think the aveage is one seach a month or something equally pathetic. I'm looking into getting a real domain so I'll probably end up switching to google.

Wearable stuff, what page did you try and reach it from? That section is online so its got to be a bad link. Probably an over look since I effectivaly doubled the size of my site.

You forgot to close that URL

You forgot to close that URL to that Keyboard site. It takes over the rest of the Hacks page making every link go to that site.

Fixes

The link to the twiddler has been closed so the rest of the links should be good again, I'm working on a solution to the Pico Search Bar (need to test that at school since it isn't borked on any of the browsers I have and use), and I'm still not quite sure where the broken wearable link is.

I recently got Mozilla 1.6 and it still happens there. I also just got Mozilla Firebird 0.7 (but I just saw that they released Firefox 0.8...) and it still happens there too.

I like the chording keyboard.

I like the chording keyboard. I've been meaning to do something like that for awhile, albeit in USB so I can use it on whatever machine I please.

Yeah... About that

That version ACK was crud. I oversimplified the curcuit and it never worked. Right now I'm planning a second revision based on a keywarrior IC (codemercs.com) and smaller switches (that version is huge and uncomfortable compared to the twiddler 1 I picked up on ebay last year)

I'm going to order the keywarrior stuff once I can justify the cost of shipping from germany.
