unusual browsers

nice im about to try to post using my dreamcast

wow...a dreamcast i've always wanted one of those too. i've posted to here from a web tv box before

I actually accessed AF from a PSP about 4 wks ago on a friend's unit. I didn't do any posting, though. I found the browsing interface to be somewhat user unfriendly. (... and seeing only about 1/6th or less of the page at a time is a bit painful)

applefritter is the first page i went to when i got my PSP back in december, in fact its the only sith that i have bookmarked. posting is a pain, but for general browsing i think that the psp is just fine. beats the heck out of a fone

I reguarly go to Applefritter from my Treo. The page formats quite nicely on the small screen.

I have acessed 'friter from a phone ouch...

ok i went there on my dreamcast useing planetweb 2.6 that version has shady java and flash support but everything showed fine . the only problem i had was when i moved the cursor over the bitton's the image flickered a bit when my pointer was moving and they didnt click for me to a degree. only if a catched it just right when the image would flicker darker then it would work.

trying planetweb 3.0 it has better java and flash support

ok just got done with useing planetweb 3.0 and the site works as it should the buttons highlight as they should abd are clickable everything is 100% with planetweb 3.0 on your site

i know a site that sort of does that www.psilocybindreams.com detect's what browser you use like if your useing planetweb, dreampassport, pc, the page is diffrent for each and has diffrent content. that is my friends site

well, in ubuntu here, you have the usual Firefox, which is now a version behind (1.5.0.3), and mozilla 1.7.12. what's odd is that the other componants of the mozilla suite can be downloaded individually. so, if you just wnat the mozilla browser, you can download it. but if you want the composer, mail/newsgroups, and chatzilla, you can download them seperatly.

there are also a few not very well know browsers in the repositories. the best lesser known browser is Epiphany, which some say is faster than FF. elinks, which is a text browser baised on lynx. Galeon, which is baised on Mozilla's gecko rendering engine, and is very resource light, and the oddest one, Kazehakase, which offers plugins for rss, BOOKMARKS, and google search. so from the sound of it, that one doesnt come with a bookmarks tool.

personaly, I use firefox. it's lightweight (for the most part), starts in 10 seconds, which isnt too bad, and it gets to a page quickly.
