I'm trying to find some MIDI software for Win95. Anyone have any ideas? I've never really worked with MIDI but here's what I want to do:
Dumpster Laptop-->Gameboy Micro with Nanoloop
I want to be able to trigger sounds via keystrokes from the laptop. I know that Nanoloop can run as a slave to a controller. Maybe assign all the keys to different sounds and whatnot?

Try the shareware music archive here. Depending on how old the laptop is, consider Win3.1 or even DOS
If there's no joystick port or USB, you'll need to look into a serial or parallel port MIDI interface, too.
I'll give it a shot. I checked the website for Nanoloop and it says that it can only sync timing and not be used as a slave sequencer and be triggered by some other machine. I will look into the MIDI stuff for the laptop though...figured I'd use it for something.

Yeah, I've looked into that. You can only get the ROM image anymore. They have no actual carts for sale. I know you can get the ROM image and then flash it but I've read about it not always working and the difficulty of finding a flash system that will work. You could run it in an emulator but that brings the cool factor WAY down.
