What would you guys suggest on how to use an LCD VGA monitor as a TV and Computer monitor without feeding the cable signal through the computer? I want to be able to use the LCD on my desk as a TV and then switch to the VGA signal when i need the computer. Whats the best way to go about doing this without buying a new LCD or feeding the signal throught the computer?
Thanks!
VGA to composite adapter
That is something like what I was thinking, but I wanted to be able to get a cable TV hook up. I dug up some other thing but it was $160 and that, in my opinion, is just a little over priced.

It's a TV tuner with a VGA output. Just use a KVM to switch between computer and TV.
Thanks Dr. Webster, that looks like the one I would want...
It shows a VGA input that ooks like an s-video port on the back. What is that for, and could I hook the Mac up through that or is that for some other purpose?
Looks like a video passthrough to me, but I can't say for certain, as I don't have one of those boxes. If anything, though, a cheap VGA switchbox should work just as well.
I have a switch anyway. Thanks!
yep, i have one right now
19" samsung syncmaster 940mw
DVI, VGA, Component, Composite, and a coax input with built in tuner
it is essentially a monitor with a tuner built into it so it has 1440x900 resolution
700:1 contrast 8ms response 300 (or 350) cd/m2 brightness
i have it hooked up to my g5 and i LOVE it
bought it at best buy for 499 (newegg was 550)
I wonder if anyone here has one, or knows: do those actually do HDTV, or do they just say high definition because of the screen outputs it supports? if it really does HDTV, it might be worht our while to get one insted of a new tv. We've already got a 1280x1024 19" LCD monitor on the Mini.
