Looks familiar

At work, I managed to scrounge one of those Dell CRT's for times when I need more space to work (excel, filemaker, etc.) I've seen that resolution listed, but have been afraid to go there. 1600x1280 works well enough for me (considering my vision problems).

The Compaq P110 21" I found two of in the trash is pushing 1920x1080 @ 72Hz on an old Rage 128. I'd be interested to see if I can get more out of it with a Radeon.

The other Compaq is waiting on a solder touchup.

this is why i love CRT's

they really don't have anything stopping them from doing these high resolutions. as long as the tube can do it (like dpm) they will take it. They are also brighter, and in my opinion, better for Video work, as they accurately represent what the majority population's are going to see when turning on their bigscreen TV's Especially since most people haven't upgraded to LCD/Plasma (I will *NEVER* go plasma, only LCD with backlight. Plasma's are horrible with them dying after 3 years)
LCD's also cost more, and they last a lot less time (think of the screen dimming and/or the screen starts turning red) than a CRT (as long as you have a quality one)

The only LCD's I have in the house are on my 2 laptop screens. One is an 11" on my Dell 233MMX and my other in my iBook 1.2Ghz

Dell?

Bahh! Wink

That's a lot of pixels! (2,621,440 to be exact! Twice what my 1280 x 1024 has; 1,310,720)

Where's the rotate menu? Want a fun game to play for a while? Rotate your screen 180 degrees and try to get something done. Very challenging, and very pointless... for those days when you've got nothing better to do.

I can't top the thread starte

I can't top the thread starter's resolution but with my 17" DELL D1028L I can pull off 1600x1024 (1920x1080 if I don't mind the edges cut off a bit) and with my 15" ACANA Professional 15Sp I can do 1280x1024.
